I have tried and tried to asked my parents for an Apple Mac Laptop and my parents don't think I need one. My dad gets these old laptops from work and thinks I can use them but there so old fashioned and I want to learn how to use a Mac instead of a PC. A few of my friends parents bought them a mac laptop and I love playing around with their macs. I know they're about 1,000 to 1,500 dollars but all I want is a 1,000 dollar one that I can learn to use now through college. I'm 14 now so learning to use it now could get me prepped for college. Are there any websites with cheaper Mac Laptops that are new and never been used and how can I convince my parents that I need a mac laptop? I thought about asking for one for christmas and just that but I don't think it'll work. They think they're too expensive but are their benefits? Thank you!! Best answer gets 10 Points!!

tell them what u have said above and find out all thee gd points about them and dont stop until u hav 1 that way they'll relise how much u want 1 really find out how gd they r n if u have time make a booklet or poster or something explaing. hope this helped it worked when i got mine
p.s also if u do get 1 u can have free lessons on how to use use all its features after u got it for a bit tell them that and how if u do that u can make the most of everything thing its got!

you need to bargain with them. First of all, you can find cheaper electronics at sites like craigslist. but what you really need to know is all the specs for the laptop. You need to convince them that it has capabilities that you need! So I would say read tons of reviews on apple notebooks. Knowledge is power.

A mac book has so many more benefits than a pc. It is worth the price! A mac will last years longer than a pc, unlike a pc a mac can upgrade operating system after operating system, a pc you usally after a new version comes out you usually have to buy a new computer. I have see macs running leopard from the early ninities and running perfectly and pc can't do that! Also you will get better customer service at apple, they are so helpful. Also macs are less prone to virsuses! And they have great programs, and now with the program
Paraelles you can run windows on your mac!

The truth is that you don't need a Macbook, you want a Macbook. You could get the exact computer specifications only with a different operating system and only spend $550-800 for a capable laptop.
You're 14, so by the time that you got to college, you would be using a computer that is "so old fashioned" anyways.
If you desperately want a laptop then ask for a $550 PC laptop or something that is ridiculously cheap, because they are everywhere nowadays. No, they aren't the best computers, but their specifications are just as good as most Macbooks.
If that doesn't do it for you, then that's proof that you don't need a laptop, you just want a flashy computer because everyone else has one.
That's how Apple makes their billions.

Get a mac book pro with anything you dont want to get one,
with horrible quality.
The macbook offers a lot of things for a girl your age to do, so when shes not doing anything she wont be bored.
You can take pictures and edit them well and get copies for memories.I movie to make funny videos.
You can get the weather, or a calculator in one click, to know what to wear the next day or if you need a little help on homework plus instead of wasting phone bills and money
you can just videochat with a friend or multiple friends at the same time.
Or if your friends and you are doing a project and your friends busy? OH crud what are you going to do. You can screen share, you can see each others screen and seeexactly what there doing, and youi even control there screen! So you know what part of the project there working on.BTw you guys can still communicate by audiochat while screensharing.
Also safari on a mac is so much high quality and easier to use.
Macs are really good for school especially for you going into to hgh school you will have a lot more projects and lot more homework.So a mac this is the perfect timing.
